Vote For Our Activities in the Park Program!

Get Fit Great Falls is a finalist for a grant opportunity given by Benefis Health System.  You may vote once a day for a week starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, April 11, and ending at 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 17.

Get Fit Great Falls is requesting funds to buy art and activity supplies for physical activities that will be offered in 10 parks in low-income Great Falls neighborhoods. Park attendants will spend two hours in two parks every weekday during the summer.

Each day, they will organize a different physical activity that doesn’t require expensive equipment and an art or science project with the hope of drawing kids of all interest to the parks. The activities will be timed as much as possible to coincide with the summer food truck program and Great Falls Public School’s Summer Read 6 book-giveaway program. The goal is to increase the number of kids playing in parks with the hope of building healthy, lifelong habits of being active outdoors and reducing the risk of them becoming overweight or obese.
