Get Fit Great Falls, in coordination with the U.S. Forest Service, is proud to host Winter Trails Day 2020 on Saturday, February 1st at the Silver Crest Winter Recreation Area.
The day offers snowshoeing and cross country skiing, all for free! There are scheduled hikes throughout the day that cater to people of all ages and experience, and folks who have never snowshoed or skied are encouraged to come up and learn with our experienced volunteers.
Whether you’re up to the challenge of a 2.75 mile snowshoe hike through the mountainside, or your family is content with the quarter mile family hike, there is something for everyone.
“This is one of the longest-running programs with Get Fit Great Falls,” says organizer Dave Cunningham. “And it really is a great way to get out of the house and enjoy Montana’s natural beauty, despite it being the middle of the winter.”
Thanks to generous donations from community businesses, free lunch, coffee and snacks will be provided while supplies last.
Space is limited, and fills up fast. Registration is required and opens at 6:00pm on Wednesday, Jan. 22nd. For more information on hikes or to register, please head to our website. There you can also find directions to the recreation area.
You can also find us on Facebook.
Special thanks to our sponsor, Great Falls Clinic.
Free lunch is made possible through donations from Albertsons on 10th Ave. S., Benski Towing, Great Harvest and Morning Light Coffee.
Skis are provided thanks to Bighorn Outdoor Specialists, and snowshoes are made available by the U.S. Forest Service.
